Founder & President
Leif Carlson co-founded Carlson Quinn in 1994 and brings over 25 years of experience in the retirement consulting industry. Prior to founding the firm, he spent 8 years as a Retirement Plan Consultant at Watson Wyatt Worldwide and held actuarial roles at National Associates, Inc. and American General Corporation. Throughout his career, Leif has designed, implemented, and administered retirement programs for a wide range of clients: from sole proprietors and professional service firms to partnerships and mid-sized businesses. He offers strategic guidance and ongoing consulting for defined contribution, defined benefit, and non-qualified plans and has extensive experience in the development and administration of ESOPs and stock-based compensation plans. Leif holds a degree from Stanford University and is an active member of the Western Pension & Benefits Conference.

Founder & President
Brian Quinn co-founded Carlson Quinn in 1994, bringing over 40 years of experience in the retirement consulting industry. Before launching the firm, he led the defined contribution plan administration and consulting group at the San Francisco office of The Wyatt Company. His earlier experience includes roles at Pension Dynamics Corporation and Arthur Young & Company. Throughout his career, Brian has overseen the design, implementation, and administration of hundreds of 401(k), 403(b), 457(b), 457(f), and profit-sharing plans. He has also led numerous complex compliance projects, helping clients navigate evolving government regulations and correction programs with confidence. Brian earned his degree from California State University, Hayward, and is an active member of both the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) and the Western Pension & Benefits Conference.
